Parents should limit and try to provide children with fresh, natural foods.

Artificially colored food

Artificial colors in brightly colored foods such as packaged jellies, multicolored candies, etc. can be associated with a range of cognitive issues, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, and headaches in children. This becomes a major factor in the adverse effects on children’s development. Most sugary foods also contain artificial colors, which can be harmful to overall health.

High-sugar food

Most children love ice cream, sweets, soft drinks, and pastries. Excess sugar can lead to hyperactivity and affect children’s appetite. Children are prone to obesity and other brain-related consequences such as decreased flexibility and fatigue. Excessive sugar consumption can also cause stomachaches and weaken the immune system.

High-salt food

High-salt food not only harms children’s kidneys but also causes cardiovascular and renal diseases. In particular, it can deprive the brain of oxygen and slow down its development, affecting cognitive abilities, memory, and premature aging. Therefore, parents should limit their children’s consumption of high-salt foods.

Monosodium glutamate (MSG)

MSG is one of the seasonings that can affect the communication process in the nervous system, impairing the intellectual development of children. According to experts, children under 1 year old should never consume MSG, and older children should also be cautious to avoid harm to their brains and nervous system.
